Pointers are designed for fast, precise marking of points on the surface of a piece of material such as wood, metal or plastic. Most commonly used to mark a point before beginning drilling. The mark is produced as a result of hitting the sharp end of the punch in the material. The traditional scoring method requires the use of a hammer.
