60 inch resistance soldering iron

YT-8272 soldering iron in a traditional housing with a resistance heater powered directly from the mains socket.

The simplicity of the design makes the device almost failure-free, and if the tip is properly cared for, the soldering iron will serve for many years.

The power of the heater is sufficient to properly solder two copper wires or basic electronics using through-hole assembly technology. The thermal power of the tip is high enough to enable heating and proper soldering of elements on large soldering fields. The high-quality coated copper tip ensures faster accumulation and release of heat than in standard tips, and the touch-friendly two-component handle with an anti-slip element further improves safety of use.

power supply: 230V
heater power: 60W
tip hole depth: approximately 60 mm
max. tip diameter: 6.1 mm
Dimensions of the tip attached to the soldering iron:

length: about 85 mm
diameter: 5.7 mm
tip tip diameter: 1.5 mm
Other dimensions:

total length with bent cable: 270 mm
handle length: approx. 130 mm
power cord length: 140 cm
The soldering iron needs 2 to 3 minutes to heat up to 350°C.

How to care for your mainsail

The tips of Yato soldering irons are covered with a material that limits the oxidation of the tip. Long-term heating and mechanical damage gradually degrade the protective layer, then the tip oxidizes quickly, resulting in problems with melting the solder binder. Instead of melting and sticking to the tip, the tin balls up and falls off. A proven way to take care of the tip is to tin it. When heating up the soldering iron for the first time, apply some tin to the tip of the tip and remove its excess, e.g. with brass shavings. The resulting tin layer protects against oxidation. It is good practice to tin the tip every time after finishing work.

Attention !

Soldering irons powered directly from a mains socket should have a plug with a grounding pin and should be powered from a socket with grounding. Failure to ground the metal casing of the heater is a risk of electric shock, which in the best case scenario will result in burns. All Yato soldering irons have a plug with grounding, which is connected to the metal housing of the heater.
